You are a piano genius! I once was listening to Pandora and I heard "The Approaching Night." I immediately fell in love. I am going to buy the sheet music and try to learn it. I love all of your music. It is absolutely amazing. Never stop composing. The world needs music like yours. ~Karissa Jo~

Your music is truly breathtaking. I first heard it on Pandora about a month ago when I put in "Jim Brickman radio" -- since I've always been a fan of his. When one of your songs came on it captivated me, made me stop and take note of the composer's name. I love your music. I thank you for sharing your gift. I had a brother (age 21) who was a composer and songwriter who passed away a little over a year ago, and I wish I could have shared your music with him. He would have loved it...music does so much for us. He understood that. Yours moves me and inspires me...I know I am not alone it that. Others must feel the same way. Thank you. You cannot put a price on that. Keep writing and playing...share your gift. Much appreciate, Kimberly :)

Hello Philip,
I was inspired over the 2011 holiday season by your piano magic when I heard "Carol
of the Bells" on Pandora. Your key board talent and beautiful sounds traveled
magically throughout my home via the speakers in the ceiling with a spine chilling
response. I did not know who the artist was when I first heard your moving melody.
After a passionate search I was able to find you as the artist, your lovely keyboard
sounds that so move me, and ultimately your website. I am a no name and have no
music talent or music education aside from the bragging rights that I played the
piano when I was a child. I am now 49 and am still moved by certain sounds of the
piano and violin. Your sound found me and I have found you and thank you.
Interestingly, I have been a fan of the sounds of David Lanz for many years. I hope
one day I am able to listen to you in concert and especially if you are in the
Washington, DC area. Best to you in the New Year and know that you have inspired yet
another fan.

I just started a piano station on Pandora, and every time your songs play I feel so
sad and yet so good at the same time. I bought your CD online without knowing
anything about you, and was so surprised and pleased to read the CD insert as to
what this CD is about. I want to thank you for this CD, it means so much to me. I am
listening to it now as I type this, and I am smiling.

Between my sleep, I heard this beautiful melody that really touched with my soul. I had to wake up and check my Pandora to find out who the pianist is. It was you, Philip. I am hooked ever since, especially after I read your bio and you said David Lanz inspired you. OMG. I love David Lanz too! What a coincidence :)

Thank you for composing beautiful piano pieces. You are one of my all-time favorite pianists in the world. Keep spreading the beauty of music.

Hey Philip! I discovered your music about a month and a half ago, and I was
instantly hooked. I wasn't really into solo piano music up until then...being a
highschool drummer I've always loved hard rock and what not. Discovering your music
was musically eye opening not to mention musically amazing. Keep it up!!

Wow your incredible. I just heard you for the first time. I heard you new CD on
pandora as I was studying. I had to stop studying and find out what was playing

Wow... You're simply amazing. Each song is so complicated but yet simply beautiful. You must really love the piano. I wish that one day that i can play the piano as beautiful as you do. Im only 14 but I've been playing the piano for at least 4 years already but when i play i feel like I'm in another world. I can play it all night and not even notice. Its my true paradise. its the same when i hear for songs, I'm becoming obsessed lol. The powerful thing about music is that it for fills us and it expresses what we can't say in words. Music is a gift that is so priceless and beautiful that anyone can hold within......

You have inspired me to play the piano again :-)

Thank you soo much for your gift and i hope you never stop playing the piano.
Good Luck in Life and can't wait for your next song :-)

I found your music on Pandora, and I'm obsessed. Piano is one of my favorite instruments, and you really know how to bring it to life in some of the most beautifully haunting and emotional songs I have ever heard. Brilliant, brilliant. I was a music major for voice, and you've inspired me to continue my studies with piano so that I may play your beautiful songs. Thank you.

Mr. Wesley,
I recently heard your music for the first time on pandora radio, and was instantly
moved to tears. The enchanting melody was so filled with emotion and movement that
it made me want to run and cry simultaneously. I consider myself a pianist, though I
have never taken lessons; I instantly became a fan and promptly purchased your album
DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL. I looked up your sheet music, and found a sample page of
your song "Racing Against the Sunset"; I love to play by ear, and using that page
and the CD I had purchased, I was able to play it! Though not nearly as movingly as
you do. Thank you for you beautiful music, and for making it available to others. I
will be purchasing your songbook very soon!

Sincerely,
Caroline

Discovered you and Michele McLaughlin on Pandora, and I was stunned by how amazing Piano solo's can be and am totally hooked now. It is refreshing to get away from the over-stimulating "music" of my generation and find something real and tangible. You should come to Portland, OR--we love our pianists here!

My favorite album, Dark Night of the Soul has exhilaratingly raw music and haunting songs. No matter how much anguish there is, he exorcises his demons through his playing and a tremendous unbridled power that transcends the pain, turning into pure catharsis.

on Pandora radio,i created a station for "Moonlight Sonata"(on pandora, you type in a song, artist, or genre and it automatically plays music similar to that which you typed in), which used to be my favorite piano piece. Until Pandora played "Lamentations of the Heart"... NEW FAVORITE ARTIST! just wanted you to know that you are amazing. I am a classical guitarist, and plan to lean Lamentations of the Heart on guitar. KEEP IT UP! YOUR VERY TALENTED!

Hey, I just wanted to say the first song I heard by you was Dark Night of The Soul. I have ever since then been completely obsessed with your work. It's so rich and dark, yet, there is almost a romantic feel to it. I play the piano a lot and am currently working on that song :P Thank you for reawakening my thirst for great music.

I love your music! I first heard The Approaching Night on Pandora and I fell in love. I bought the music and memorized it that day. I probably didn't leave the piano for 5 hours. I am going into my Senior year of high school and my goal is to learn Tears of the East by the end of the year. I only have 4 years of playing experience.

I first heard Souls Lament on Pandora and instantly fell in love. It is my dream to become an amazing piano player like you Philip. My mom said that my goal can be to play Racing against the Sunset or Souls Lament. I just love those two pieces. I am only 12 and wish to play these pieces.

I had been looking for a "genre" of music that I liked and since I was not a big music fan, this was pretty difficult. I came across "Light and Shadow" and was spellbound. I absolutely love it. Your music is so beautiful and captivating. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

Hello from a little Village in Julian, Nebraska. I stumbled onto ' The Approaching
Night ' and have been smitten ever since. I've thus searched you and your work out
and may I say your music is POWERFUL. Thank you for touching my soul in a way that
words never could. Amazing. Mankind is blessed that you share your gifts with us!

I just came across "Racing Against the Sunset" while studying a couple weeks ago and have been addicted to not only this particular song, but many others of his as well. I've recently turned my boyfriend onto him as well. I looked up his concert dates and the closest he gets to us is New Orleans. Living in Gainesville and being poor college students we're quite upset we can't afford to get up to Tennessee or Missouri to see him play. I wish he would travel further south. I would LOVE to see him live! Great pianist and composer. I love his style - favorite music to study to by far! I've become a huge fan.

Pandora has introduced many of us to your music! Thank goodness for Pandora. How inspiring of a story you have, to start at an older age and be so accomplished now. I like all songs I have heard so far, and am going to buy the sheet music collection you offer.

I have been looking for the Soul's Lament sheet music and cannot find it.

I live in Kansas City and do not see any concerts coming here. I will continue to look as days/months go by.

I stumbled upon "Soul'd Lament" somehow whilst listening to Pandora -- and bought,
'Dark Night of the Soul' immediately after. I haven't been so emotionally moved by
music in years, and wanted to thank you. I had no idea of your underlying motives
involving 'psychiatric therapy'-- but the tranquility that ensues within minutes of
listening to you work, speaks for itself. Highly impressed and have already turned
many on to your latest album. As an anesthesia provider, i must say this album
produces a sense of 'conscious anesthesia.' Such a state that even I cannot bring
about within someone - pharmacologically speaking. Again, thank you, and please
visit the Northeastern states, we would love to have you -- and so would our blood
pressures!

Wesley,
I think it is wonderful that you are from the same metro area as I! I too recently found you on Pandora and was intoxicated by your infectious music. It is so uplifting and compels my soul to stick with my artistic talent. You are a wonderful pianist and I can feel your passion in the music. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. Once again, you are fantastic, I can't think of the best possible way to explain it. It's beautiful.

March 17, 2011

Hi Philip,
After listening to your piece on Pandora the other day, I'm having difficulty
navigating away from it. It's very uplifting and although I'm unsure of your
compositional intention, it really does speak to me. I find myself going through a
rather different emotional phase where I reflect upon myself as an individual to
my family, group of friends, community and school and how I play a role in
influencing those groups of people. I can go on with the praising but I think your
music speaks for itself. I hope you receive many comments similar to mine, because
you are truly a great composer and performer.

Mr. Wesley,
I would just like to thank you for inspiring me to take up what i had thrown down. I took lessons at age 10 for a few months before my teacher moved over 1500 miles away. Sadly we never found another teacher. I gave up on attempting to play with any real dedication and learned what i wanted on a whim. But when i heard Tears of the East, it completely changed my reasons for playing. I suddenly realized i wanted to play like this some day. I felt my desire rekindled, my passion for the most beautiful instrument overflowing. Since then i have learned two-handed playing, and now play for my church on a weekly basis. Everytime i play it gets more exhilirating, and the chills that run up and down my spine make me play with more determination and joy.

It was "In a lifetime" that compelled me to find you.
I knew the music but not the man. Bravo!
I have neglected my own study in the art for some time now. But have not lost the passion. You have an uncommon gift Philip Wesley. Your friends and family must love and adore you. "Maybe you should consider a youtube channel :) Kisses.

Beautiful music! The song that really touched me was New Day on Dark Night of the Soul. I heard it on Pandora and it made me stop what I was doing and just listen. As soon as it was over I immediately tried searching for the sheet music for that song but was very disappointed to discover it is not available. I would really love to have that. Please send me an email if you release that. Thank you so much for such deep and touching music.

I just wanted to say that you are really amazing at piano. I could see your music
used on so many movies and it would have made them so much better. I first heard
your music on pandora radio and it caught my attention then. I don't normally
listen to that style but it's different. Best of luck to you. Hopefully i'll be
watching a movie one day and I'll hear one of your songs!

Philip,
Thank you so much for the beautiful music you have created, it has helped me to
begin to heal from years of trauma. Your music means the world to me. Wings to
Freedom began to unlock my soul, when I thought it was impossible. Dark night of the
soul is mesmerizing and has awaken the pianist in me that has been asleep for years.
Thank you again.

Dear Mr. Wesley,

Thank you very much for all the wounderful music that you have bought into my life. I love your songs. Especially the songs titled " At this moment and Wings of freedom. " Whenever i feel stressed, especially during the upcoming of my examinations, i would listen to this two particular songs that relaxes my mind and calms me down. Well, if you ask me how do i get to know you and your amazing songs. Well, it all started when i was browzing for new piano songs to learn and play. I came across this song titled Philip Wesley songs, as i was curious, i decided to click and WOW to my astonishment, i was memerised. I havenever heard such a unique songs that actually inspire me.

Mr. Wesley,

Thank you ever so much for your beautiful music. I used to play trumpet for my middle school band, but decided music was not my forte some years later.
I was browsing music on Youtube when I came across one of your pieces, The Approaching Night. I was mezmerised. Never before had I ever heard such a unique and calming song. The complexity of it was far greater than anything I have ever heard.
Since then, I have listened to many of your songs and have taken up piano lessons; I plan to play Dark Night of the Soul by the end of 2011.
Thank you once again for your music. It has inspired so many and we can only hope you continue your passion.

Sincerely,
Rob

January 23, 2011

Mr. Wesley,

Thank you!
Thank you for your beautiful music, the availability of your sheet music, and your e-mail.
My daughter started taking piano lessons only 7 months ago. Yes, I forced her into it. She has always thought of herself having poor music abilities. She comes from a very musical family. Her grandfather, Joe Puma, was a recording jazz guitarist.
Last month, she found your tunes on YouTube and she loved them! It was about the same time she was really wanting to quit piano lessons. Her teacher is fabulous (teaching logic and techniques my teachers never showed me). She asked what music my daughter listens to. We made a list of her top 20 favorites, and 5 of them were yours along with Daughtry, Cold Play, and Taylor Swift.
I printed out your sample first pages of a few songs, and showed my daughter what they look like. During her lesson this morning, her teacher taught her the whole first page of Light and Shadow. Big smiles ! Wow ! Piano playing is fun again !
Did I say Thank You?
We ordered the rest of the sheet music as soon as we got home. She has been playing most of the day. Wow!

Thank you, once again.

It is difficult to find the words to express how grateful I am that your music was
there for my son to find.

My son is 26 and has aspergers. He suffered severe anxiety for too many of his young
adult years. It is so hard for him to relax his mind that often races at speeds that
are difficult for the rest of us to understand.

About a year ago I called to see how he was doing and he said "pretty good." These
are not words I heard often. He said he was relaxing. These are words that were new
from his lips. He was listening to your music.

He found your music per chance, as one of your pieces played on his pandora station.
He said it made him feel calm so he downloaded some of your music and would lay
quietly and listen to it and RELAX.

I cannot express the miracle that this was. He has never been able to lie still for
long, and could not slow his mind.

He learned that it was possible. He continued to have ups and downs but at the
moment is doing so well.

He has just moved near the University where he will be attending this year. He is
sharing an amazing home with two others, and there is a piano there.
He has never played before. He had the place to himself this weekend, downloaded a
piece of music (dark night of the soul) and tried to play it. He called me, was
talking and played it for me over the phone explaining that it is a complicated
piece so he was having some difficulty with it.

He has never played before. He could do each hand separately but needed to figure
out how to count the timing to put them together. I listened over the phone in
amazement.

My son, on his own, in his own place, being social, going to the university, and
playing beautiful music for me on the piano. My son is relaxed.

I thank you for your beautiful music that has entered my son's soul and brought him
a window through which he can see the beauty of peace.

Mr. Wesley,
My boyfriend was listening to ‘Racing Against the Sunset’ on Pandora and I literally stopped everything I was doing just to listen. It has been such a long time since I’ve heard such beautiful music. Though it has been even longer since anyone has ever inspired me to sit down at the piano and play once more. I wait in excitement to receive the sheet music I ordered, in hopes to spread your art through my own fingertips. Yet while I wait I keep finding more pieces that I truly do enjoy. It would seem you’re a very talented musician to have touched not just me, but so many with your music. I do hope you continue to share your talent with the world and I look forward to watching you grow as a musician,

I was listening to Christmas Jazz 24/7 at Live365.com on my Apple TV one morning
while playing with my two year old son. Your arrangement of "Carol of the Bells"
got into my head and wouldn't leave, but in a good way!

I jumped on to iTunes, picked up your "Comfort and Joy" album listened for a week or
so, and am now back on the bench hammering out songs again on the piano thanks to
this experience.

Keep up the amazing work, and I look forward to exploring more of your artistry in
the future!

Hello Philip,

My name is Maaike, I'm 16 and live in Holland.
About a month ago I bought the sheet music from the song 'Wings to Freedom' from your website, because it’s such a great song.
Since then I've had a few performances from my music school and my high school where I played your song.
After the performance I got really great compliments about the piece, some even asked where they could find the sheet music!

Also, a really appreciate your invitations to your concerts but it’s a little bit too far to travel for me, sorry.
I really do love watching your performances afterwards because with the time differences I can’t watch it live unfortunately.

So, a lot of people enjoy listening and playing your music here in Holland!

Yours faithfully,

Maaike

I heard "Racing Against the Sunset" on Pandora and loved it so I checked out some of
your other work and it's great as well. I just wanted to drop a quick Great Job and
say keep that emotion in your music. I haven't heard piano playing with that much
emotion attached in quite some time.

Dear Phillip,
I just purchased 3 of your albums, because I am absolutely enthralled with your
music. Your music resonates with so much of what our organizations are about and
what my wife and I are doing in the world.

I will be licensing one of your songs for a new website we are working on as soon as
I can decide which one is the right one from one of these three albums. I will keep
you posted on its launch date.

I discovered you on Pandora. What a great way to meet new artists!

Your gift is an inspiration to me and all who listen to your music. It uplifts the
consciousness of our planet.

Kindest Regards,

John

Hi Philip,

Just a quick note to say that I find your piano solos very uplifting and inspiring.
As a lifelong amateur pianist / music theory geek, I appreciate the complex (and
difficult!) themes of your works… especially in Racing Against The Sunset.

And in case you were curious, I discovered your music through Pandora, so kudos for
sharing it through there.

Best,
Alex

Your notes, can take me away. Your music is beauty itself. Thank you for putting aside your guitar all those years ago, i would love to hear a piece of art collaborated by Susan Ciani and yourself.

Hey Philip,

Your music is beautiful... and has touched the lives of my roommate and myself. We
are students at The Ohio State University as juniors right now.
This music takes us down a beautiful path to places we've been...and places we hope
yet to be.

If at all possible, we would love if you could play somewhere in Columbus on campus,
or just anywhere in Ohio so we can come see you :)

You have truly an amazing gift.

Hello Philip,
My name is John and I'm from the Czech republic, it's a small country in the Europe.
I'm very impressed by your music, it is so briliant and awesome too. And I have one
request to you, if you could send my some sheets to me, especially for the Wings to
freedom. I will be very happy. Thank you very much and good luck for your job!

Hello! I really really love your music. Could you come to Colorado and do a concert?
Maybe in Denver? I live in Fort Collins, but I would drive anywhere just to hear you
play live :) Please consider! Keep writing music for us, it's beautiful!

Thank you for composing high quality music. The pop garbage that passes for music
these days have naught to compare to your skills with the piano. Listening to your
music helps me and many others contemplate the important and take stock of life. I
only wish that one day, I will be able to be as skilled as you are.

Dear Philip,

I fell in love with Dark Night of the Soul when I was on Pandora, and Light and Shadow. Racing Against the Sunset is my motivational-relaxation selection. They are all beautiful! It was an instant emotional connection that brought me comfort and inner peace to my soul.

Thank you!

I came across your song Dark Night of the Soul on my Pandora station for Tori Amos. Your song reminded me of my relationship with my fiance. I love it and I will play it for him on our wedding day. I haven't played the piano in years but I have a year to learn how to play this song. Thank you so much for writing such beautiful music. I will tell all my guest who wrote the song and I pray I don't mess it up.

First of all, your music is beautiful. I'm a light-hearted guy, but the music I
always am drawn to is the dark, passionate music which you write so beautifully.
Absolutely amazing pieces...I was wondering if you plan on publishing a book of
sheet music. If you do, you have my assurance that I will buy it, and learn and
memorize every single piece in the book!

Keep writing, you've a gift.
